Submission for the 2025 Afritondo short story prize is now closed.

We thank everyone who submitted entries for the prize.

This year, we received entries from 34 countries, including Nigeria, Uganda, the US, the UK, Kenya, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, France, Tanzania, Rwanda, Botswana, Canada, Malawi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Namibia, Lesotho, Mauritius, Eswatini, and Jamaica.

Other first-time entrants countries include Angola, Portugal, Tunisia, Mozambique, DRC, South Sudan, Burundi, Madagascar, Togo, and Trinidad and Tobago.

We truly appreciate all the entries and the writers who submitted them, and we can’t wait to read them.

The longlist is expected by the end of March 2025, so please keep an eye on our social media channels and website for more information.
